The first Happy Birthday is for Sarah… I am sure I don’t need to remind you (but I will anyway) that she is my very gorgeous and extremely talented SIL who I love to bits just like a sister. Truth be told I am a bit late in getting this card up here. I had hoped for it to be up on Monday (Sair’s actual birthday) so I could get you all to pop over to her and wish her a very Happy Birthday but a little storm and no power meant no blogging for a day or so and then things got a little busy. However you can still wish her a belated birthday.

The inspiration for this card came from Makeesha’s Inkspiration Inspiration Challenge.

Purple is not a colour I use often but if I do I love combining it with green. I went with my safe purple colour Lavender Lace (my fav out of all the purples) and combined it Kiwi Kiss, although I used Old Olive for the stem and leaves of the flower. I stamped the image on watercolour paper and then went over it with my aqua painter to give it a water colour effect.

The second birthday wish is for my Father in law who will celebrate his birthday next week. I find it so hard to make ‘blokey’ cards so I kept it really simple – and as you can see I stuck to my standard ‘blokey’ colours of Baja Breeze, Kraft and Chocolate Chip.

Well I hope you are having lovely week and if you are in Perth I hope the storm was kind to you!

Wild About You would have to be my favourite stamp set when it comes to making baby cards and 1st and 2nd birthday cards. I love using the pretty giraffe on girls cards and the very cute lion on boys cards. So as I mentioned in my last post I am going to do a parade of cards featuring Wild About You for the next few posts.

Starting with this card that I made for my sister to give to a friend who had a little boy.

I made another card using this same design for our sweet little friend Charlie’s 1st birthday

The number 1 above was made using the lowercase letter i from the Jumbo Outline Alphabet Stamp Set. First I inked up the giraffe in Ballet Blue and using my Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped the letter i onto the giraffes body to make a spotty number one.

Have a great day and thanks for dropping by. Will be back soon with some more Wild About You cards.

Ok, so lets try this again.

Hello everyone!!!

I’m back yet again, not that I have actually been anywhere this time but to say things have been a little busy would be an understatement not to mention the chaos that is my craft room at the moment! It is currently having a makeover and I cant wait till its all done. I will have to post some pics of my new creative space once its up and running.

I made these two cards while I was still at the farm. Lucky I did because I have done very little in the form of cardmaking or scrapbooking since coming home!

This first card was for some dear friends who welcomed their adorable baby boy into the world at the end of December. I used the same design that I used for Baby Luca’s card, I just changed the colour combo.

This card below is currently packed away somewhere safe in my spare room along with most of the contents of my craft room. I really must find it and get it in the post to a friend who had her little girl at the end of December. I think I can safely assume that she does not check out this blog and I can post a picture of this card before I have actually sent it.

I must apologise to those of you who have dropped by and noticed things were a little quiet. To be honest I was starting to get a little nervous seeing I had broken my New Year’s resolution already!!! Thanks Michelle who very nicely said to me at our team day “You need to update your blog!”

And while we are on the subject of Team Day and blogs, check out Michelle’s blog for the cards we all made at the last team day. We all took part in a Summer Mini Shoebox Swap!! It was lots of fun but I must say that I have never stamped so hard and talked so little in my entire stamping life!!… and I still didn’t get all cards done and I still have homework to do!!!  So if you pop over to Michelle’s you will get to see all the wonderful cards we made rather than waiting for me to finish mine!! (Thanks Mich … Hope you don’t mind ;))

Hi Everyone… Wishing you all a very belated but very Merry & Bright Christmas. I hope you all had a magical day with family and friends.

I did manage to get my Christmas cards made and posted just in time! I had hoped to show you before Christmas but my computer caught a bug and was out of action for a few days and I only picked it up the day before Christmas!!

I know Christmas is done with for this year but I thought I would still show you the cards I made. They are quite simple but when you are mass producing cards I think keeping it simple is the key.

So which design do you like the best? To be honest I didn’t have a favourite I liked them all!

While I am here I thought I would also let you know that things may be a little quite on the blog front for the next week or so. I am spending some time at my folks farm with my girls… I love being here and I love how the girls love being here. They have the most wonderful farm experiences – they have been picking and eating fresh peas and cherries, getting dusty and dirty and are getting a good dose of clean country air.

I on the other hand have been doing a whole pile of absolute nothing… but I have packed 3 huge tubs of craft stuff and hope to get lots done while I am here so I should have heaps to show.

And before you go my best wishes for the New Year, I hope that 2009 is a wonderful year for you. A huge THANKS for visiting my little blog and for the lovely comments you leave – it always puts a smile on my face.

Take care

Luke is another Kindy friend who celebrated his 5th birthday a couple of weekends ago. I generally find boy cards really hard to make especially since I own very little in the way of boy specific stamps.

I got the inspiration for this card from Luke’s invitation which had a space theme – it got me thinking about rocket ships and I started flicking through the catalgoue and found Pun Fun… problem is I don’t own it!. Thankfully I was able to borrow it from Angela who is in our team – THANKS Angela!!

The idea to use the Sweet Treat Cups to make the ‘earth’ just came to me. I love when that happens… wish it would happen more often!

So here is my space inspired card.

I almost thought I would have to go on the scrounge for some star stamps as well but thankfully I had my Season of Joy stamp set sitting on my desk so I used the star from that set and also the little star from Riveting (retired).

I was really pleased with how it came together. I made a very special “peel me off” section inside the card in the hope that all my hard work wouldn’t be destroyed in an attempt to get to the mini MM’s!

Luke’s Birthday Card

Baby Luca belongs to Melissa and Mario who are one of the Kindy parents – he also has two lovely big sisters, one of them is in Kindy with Ruby. Anyway Luca arrived at the end of October and this is the gift and card I made for him. I struggled to get a good photo of the frame because of the reflection from the glass, this was the best of all the photos I took.

I covered a wooden letter with some Brocade Blue DSP and added some Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon and a Bashful Blue Button from the Sherbet range in the new Summer Mini Catalogue. I also got to use the brand new Framed with Love Stamp Set which again is from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I had been busting to have a play with that stamp set!

As you can see I made sure that the card and frame co-ordinated – Here is a better photo of just the card.

I love making personalised gifts especially to welcome a new baby and the frames have been my favourite gift to make. I think that most of our good friends and family that have had babies over the past 2 years all have a personalised frame.

Luca’s Frame and Card

  • Stamps: Framed with love, Punches Three
  • Paper: Patterns Pack II DSP Brocade Blue (Level 1 Hostess gift),  Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery. Whisper White

Only days to go before the Spring Mini Catalogue ends and the new Summer Mini starts.  It will be so so sad to see the Great Friend stamp set go. It was my must have stamp set from the Spring Mini and I have got so much use out of it… I have lost count of the number of times I have cut out the butterfly.

I had a couple of cards and little gifts to make so I thought I would put it through its paces once again.

This first card I sent to my cousin who lives in Cairns… such a beautiful place to visit.

I have used one of my favourite colour combination of Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Kraft and I cut of the butterfly yet again!. This time I cut out two and popped them on top of each other and held them together with two brads. I wanted to give the butterfly a 3D effect… See?

I stamped the sentiment from Trendy Trees and punched it out using the large oval punch. I stamped the branch using the second generation technique and then sponged the edges.

I also made this little bag with Lindt chocolates to go along with the card.

I used this same colour combination to make a little card holder and some cards for a very good friend of mine (waving Jacinta) who held her first workshop with me last week. Although Jiz has not yet come down with the stamping bug she still very kindly offered to host a workshop with me and even more kindly offered to give away her hostess gifts!! So I made a few gifts for her to say thanks and also to make sure she got some goodies from hosting a workshop.

This below is one of the gifts I made… some little gift cards

and a little gift card bag/box to keep them in.

I was so proud of this little bag/box – simple as it is, the girls in our team can vouch for the fact that me and boxes/bags just don’t seem to click  – but I refuse to be beat!

Enjoy your last day of spring mini and get ready for some summer mini lovin’.

Every now and then the kindy mums get together whether it be for dinner or coffee. On one of these occasions I mentioned that I had just signed up as a SU demonstrator. Not expecting much of a response I proceeded to get very excited when one of the mums said that she had been to a few workshops and that she would host a workshop with me, and then another mum also said she would be interested in having a workshop too…  just like that!!!… I could hardly contain my excitement.

So to say thanks to Gayle, who hosted her workshop in October, I thought I’d best make a card – of course!

h

Cheep Talk was a must have when it showed up in the 2009-2010 IB&C, but in saying that I hadn’t done a lot with it. I knew I wanted to make a card using a stamp set that was new to the catalogue and once I narrowed them down … this was the pick.

Isn’t this little bird is just too cute?

So onto the making of this card… I inked up the leaves in Kiwi Kiss and went over the branch with my Chocolate Chip marker. The little bird has been inked in Ballet Blue – I don’t actually own the Rich Regals markers (yet) so I had to use my ink pad, but I wanted his beak and legs to be yellow so I just wiped the blue ink off them with a tissue or a cotton tip (truth be told it could have even been the top I was wearing at the time whatever was in easy reach :)) I then went over the legs and beak with my Summer Sun marker and  stamped the little bird on top of his  branch using my Stamp-a-ma-jig (that tool is a God send!).  I then stamped him again in Ballet Blue and cut him out and stuck him down with some dimensionals . I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig again to add the sentiment and then backed it onto to some Tangerine Tango, added some paper piercing, as well as Linen Thread and a button from the Button Latte pack.  I used the little flower from the same set and stamped using Versamark randomly on a piece of Kiwi Kiss, wrapped some Chocolate Chip double stitched grosgrain around it and popped that onto the Naturals Ivory card that had been waiting patiently. Last of all  – some Dimensionals on the back of the Tangerine Tango with all the bits ‘n’ pieces stuck to it… and done.

I really had no idea where I was going with this card to start with… all I had decided was that the bird was going to be blue and that I wanted to use some of the in-colours and I guess that is how it all came together. I actually used this design for one of my Regionals swaps using the Trendy Trees stamp set.

See…

Sorry about the crooked photo… I can assure you that every other aspect of the card was (mostly) straight 😉

BTW I’m sticking to my NYR… patting myself on the back here ;)… just got to keep it up… and I will ’cause there wont be much sitting down and stamping or blogging with a bruised butt lol!

Hope your week has started off well and thanks for dropping by.

Well… lucky you didn’t all hold your breath!!!! Sorry, I have no excuses. I have finally come to the realisation (took a while I know) that I just have to make blogging part of my daily jobs rather than an “if I get a spare second” job, because when it comes to spare seconds you may have noticed that I don’t seem to get too many and if I do I’m not using them here!

SO… in front of you all I am announcing that I am turning over a new leaf  – I am starting my New Years Resolutions 50 days early and if you would all be so kind I am going to need your help to achieve this.  So a bit of a drum roll if you wouldn’t mind…. * announcing *…

There will be something new to see here at least once a week!

And if there is not this is where I need your help!  So if you drop by and there isn’t something new to see at the start of another week  (lets make the start of each posting week Friday) then leave me a message to tell me you stopped by but there wasn’t anything new to see. That will make me feel terrible and give me the kick in the backside I need to get back on track.  So as much as it is putting a fair bit of pressure on myself  I think this is what is required to get things moving on here…. so lets all move right along because I actually have something to show.

This here card is the first I made with the Great Friend stamp set from the spring mini (which I might add has only 19 days left so if there are any goodies you need just let me know) and it happens to be for my very lovely and extremely talented sister (in -law) Sarah who I have to thank for getting my love of stamping and scrapbooking back on track.

Great Friend

I used the colours from the ‘Walk in the Park’ DSP as my starting point . Never in a million years would I have thought of putting Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey, Baja Breeze, So Saffron and Cameo Coral together but the DSP told me I could and so I did and I was quite happy with how it all came together. It is a fairly simple design, although there was a fair bit of fiddly cutting out, especially the little branches but as you get to know me better you will see that I am quite a fan of cutting out stamped images! Along with this card went a little gift which I packaged up in coordinating paper … a couple of cakes of soap that smelt equally as yummy as they looked.

soap gift

And while we are on the subject of Thank-you cards and gifts. This here below is another card and gift I made for Sarah earlier in the year, as you can see when it comes to Sarah I have a lot to be thankful for.

Boroque card and girt

This card was a case from one of my absolute favourite blogs Kirsty’s cards ‘n’ scrapping (you will need to go to March 2009 in archives and scroll down a bit to find the card I cased). Check out her work, she is super talented! I am constantly amazed by her work and what is even more amazing to me is that she does all of this with four kids!

I loved the colour combo – you can’t go wrong with Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip nor with Baroque Motifs, it is such a beautiful stamp set –  must get that one out again. I stamped the Linen background stamp onto white then stamped over it with the Baroque Motifs flourish. I then added the small flowers from that stamp set – as you can see I used rock n roll technique and for the first time too! I rock n rolled the main flower, cut it out and added a rhinestone. Put it all together with some ribbon, scallop edging and some faux stitching and Bob’s your uncle (or in my case my dad). I  then put together a little bag of goodies to go with the card using the same colour combination and stamp set.

Well there you have it… hope you enjoyed these creations and please help me to stick to my blogging plan –  that means I want to hear from you if I am falling behind, but it would also be really nice to hear from you when I achieve my goals.

Thanks for dropping by and let me know what you think…

I’m back… can you believe it?… two posts in a week! This time with a card.

I made this card quite some time ago (actually close to a year ago!) for a very dear friend of mine (Hi Pina!). It uses the ever so pretty Priceless stamp set. If my memory serves me correct, I chose this SS because I wanted to make a pretty/girly card

and, well…

Flowers, butterflies and a pink and green colour combo makes for a pretty girly card don’t you think?   I also thought the ‘So Kind’ sentiment was very appropriate too seeing Pina very kindly made Ivy’s Christening invitations for me (Yes, that’s right I didn’t make them but I am sure I had a good excuse at the time).

Aaanyway… back to the card

As you can see I stamped the swirl about 3 times and added a few of the little flowers here and there. I then stamped the flowers and cut them out and popped a brad in the center. I used some dimensional just to make them stand up a bit. I did the same with the butterfly (minus the brad).

Not sure if you can see but I added some stampin’ glitter (dazzling diamonds) because all girls need bling… even if it is just a little glitter stuck to a card 🙂

So there you have it, let me know if you like it.

I just got up off the couch and away from the heater – its FREEZING! I think it is going to only be about 4 degrees tonight, brrr… I ‘m hanging out for summer!

Enjoy your great weekend and you never know I may just get back here before its over… just don’t hold your breath!
