Ok, so lets try this again.

Hello everyone!!!

I’m back yet again, not that I have actually been anywhere this time but to say things have been a little busy would be an understatement not to mention the chaos that is my craft room at the moment! It is currently having a makeover and I cant wait till its all done. I will have to post some pics of my new creative space once its up and running.

I made these two cards while I was still at the farm. Lucky I did because I have done very little in the form of cardmaking or scrapbooking since coming home!

This first card was for some dear friends who welcomed their adorable baby boy into the world at the end of December. I used the same design that I used for Baby Luca’s card, I just changed the colour combo.

This card below is currently packed away somewhere safe in my spare room along with most of the contents of my craft room. I really must find it and get it in the post to a friend who had her little girl at the end of December. I think I can safely assume that she does not check out this blog and I can post a picture of this card before I have actually sent it.

I must apologise to those of you who have dropped by and noticed things were a little quiet. To be honest I was starting to get a little nervous seeing I had broken my New Year’s resolution already!!! Thanks Michelle who very nicely said to me at our team day “You need to update your blog!”

And while we are on the subject of Team Day and blogs, check out Michelle’s blog for the cards we all made at the last team day. We all took part in a Summer Mini Shoebox Swap!! It was lots of fun but I must say that I have never stamped so hard and talked so little in my entire stamping life!!… and I still didn’t get all cards done and I still have homework to do!!!  So if you pop over to Michelle’s you will get to see all the wonderful cards we made rather than waiting for me to finish mine!! (Thanks Mich … Hope you don’t mind ;))

I’m back home… back to reality and a whole pile of washing! We had a lovely 2 weeks on the farm and the girls had lots of fun doing all the things that they only get to do at the farm. Ruby learned to ride the PW50 motorbike my brothers got her for Christmas all by herself!!

We had the first calf born for the year and the girls loved to help feed her (she was born a few weeks early so needed a little extra help)

We spent lots of time in the vegie patch picking and eating fresh peas.

And to top off all the fun we had a little reminder of just how close to nature you can be on a farm… or really just how close nature likes to get to the house! We had 2 Dugite snakes visit the house within an hour of each other!!!! Thank goodness that on both occasions the girls were inside. The first one made its way towards the house on the front lawn where the girls had been playing only minutes before they were called in for morning tea and the second one was making its way along the drive way just 20m from the house!! Scary stuff!

As I mentioned I packed almost all my craft stuff… 1 bag of clothing for all three of us and 3 big tubs of craft gear!!! I did get a fair bit of craft time and completed quite a few scrapbook LO’s and a couple of cards.

The first card I made was for my wonderful husband. We celebrated 7 years of wedded bliss a few days ago and this is the very special card I made to tell him just how wonderful he is. The inspiration for this card came from this Christmas card made by the very lovely and talented Sarah-Jane Kale`.

I had lots of fun playing with my new Framed with Love stamp set and Hello Again stamp set from the current  Summer Mini. I also used my Life Definitions stamp to stamp the together definition. I must point out that Stampin’Up! is having a super huge Inventory Clearance Sale and this stamp set (one of my absolute favourites) is on a super special so go and check out the bargains to be had.

Well I must admit it is nice to be home but we have been so so busy since getting back that there has been zero crafting done and of course there is the little issue of unpacking all the craft tubs!!!  I am so not looking forward to it!!!

Hi Everyone… Wishing you all a very belated but very Merry & Bright Christmas. I hope you all had a magical day with family and friends.

I did manage to get my Christmas cards made and posted just in time! I had hoped to show you before Christmas but my computer caught a bug and was out of action for a few days and I only picked it up the day before Christmas!!

I know Christmas is done with for this year but I thought I would still show you the cards I made. They are quite simple but when you are mass producing cards I think keeping it simple is the key.

So which design do you like the best? To be honest I didn’t have a favourite I liked them all!

While I am here I thought I would also let you know that things may be a little quite on the blog front for the next week or so. I am spending some time at my folks farm with my girls… I love being here and I love how the girls love being here. They have the most wonderful farm experiences – they have been picking and eating fresh peas and cherries, getting dusty and dirty and are getting a good dose of clean country air.

I on the other hand have been doing a whole pile of absolute nothing… but I have packed 3 huge tubs of craft stuff and hope to get lots done while I am here so I should have heaps to show.

And before you go my best wishes for the New Year, I hope that 2009 is a wonderful year for you. A huge THANKS for visiting my little blog and for the lovely comments you leave – it always puts a smile on my face.

Take care

Seeing Christmas is only 9 sleeps away I thought I had best show some of the little bits and pieces I have been making.

Firstly is this very cute stocking filled with all sorts of yummy treats, which I have made over and over again and have been giving away left, right and centre . You have probably seen them around on a few blogs – I first came across it on Tania’s blog (a very talented scrapbooker, her work is just beautiful… check her out!) and she very kindly had a link to Timeless Templates where you can download the template. Once I saw this adorable stocking I had to have a go at making one. So here is my version.

I also made these little candy filled bags to go in the stocking.

Sorry this is short and sweet but I need to get on with making my Christmas cards if I have any intention of them being received before Christmas!

Luke is another Kindy friend who celebrated his 5th birthday a couple of weekends ago. I generally find boy cards really hard to make especially since I own very little in the way of boy specific stamps.

I got the inspiration for this card from Luke’s invitation which had a space theme – it got me thinking about rocket ships and I started flicking through the catalgoue and found Pun Fun… problem is I don’t own it!. Thankfully I was able to borrow it from Angela who is in our team – THANKS Angela!!

The idea to use the Sweet Treat Cups to make the ‘earth’ just came to me. I love when that happens… wish it would happen more often!

So here is my space inspired card.

I almost thought I would have to go on the scrounge for some star stamps as well but thankfully I had my Season of Joy stamp set sitting on my desk so I used the star from that set and also the little star from Riveting (retired).

I was really pleased with how it came together. I made a very special “peel me off” section inside the card in the hope that all my hard work wouldn’t be destroyed in an attempt to get to the mini MM’s!

Luke’s Birthday Card

Baby Luca belongs to Melissa and Mario who are one of the Kindy parents – he also has two lovely big sisters, one of them is in Kindy with Ruby. Anyway Luca arrived at the end of October and this is the gift and card I made for him. I struggled to get a good photo of the frame because of the reflection from the glass, this was the best of all the photos I took.

I covered a wooden letter with some Brocade Blue DSP and added some Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon and a Bashful Blue Button from the Sherbet range in the new Summer Mini Catalogue. I also got to use the brand new Framed with Love Stamp Set which again is from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I had been busting to have a play with that stamp set!

As you can see I made sure that the card and frame co-ordinated – Here is a better photo of just the card.

I love making personalised gifts especially to welcome a new baby and the frames have been my favourite gift to make. I think that most of our good friends and family that have had babies over the past 2 years all have a personalised frame.

So this post has very little to do with craft… but I just wanted to share cause I am still on the biggest high (all natural I can assure you).

I went to the Green Day concert last night…. OMG it was AWESOME!!… I had the best time. It took me right back to a time when I owned high top converse and short tartan skirts and got away with bright red/pink hair (well least I thought I did :)) and well I could include a couple of other things but I think I have shared more than enough!

But the best thing about the whole night was that I got to hang out with my sister and brothers.  We are all Green Day fans – I think that may have been my influence since I am the oldest 😉  It was great hanging out together, well I thought it was great… they happened to think that it was somewhat embarrassing and weird seeing their big sister ROCKIN’ OUT!!!

Well it is not very often I get a night out like this and it was AWESOME!

Here is  the full layout and list of ingredients as promised!

I  sent this layout to my secret sister in New Zealand (* waving Nadine*)… (minus the photo of Miss Ruby of course!) and have since been meaning to recreate it for my album – I might have a go at turning it into a 12×12.

I want to say that it is quite a simple layout, but it does involve a fair bit of cutting out. However once all the cutting is over and done with… easy peasy! It’s just a matter of cutting strips of DSP, rounding corners, punching a boarder, adding some ribbon and a Life Definitions definition. And then the fun part of layering the flowers.

I had lots of fun putting this layout together with all these bright happy colours and I thought the little bird from Cheap Talk just added to the fun. I think he looks quite cute there with his little head just poking out don’t you think?

Petal Pizzazz Layout

  • Inks: Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Gable Green, Ballet Blue, Rose Red, Summer Sun,

  • Accessories: Eyelet Boarder Punch, Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Round Tab Punch, Corner Rounder Punch

Hi Everyone

A huge thanks to everyone that has dropped by the past couple of days… I wish I had more here to show you but it is a work in progress and it is getting there… so please drop by again 🙂

Just while my girls are eating their breakfast I thought I would show a snippet of a layout… I haven’t got much time at the moment but I will be back with the full layout and list of ingredients tonight.

Only days to go before the Spring Mini Catalogue ends and the new Summer Mini starts.  It will be so so sad to see the Great Friend stamp set go. It was my must have stamp set from the Spring Mini and I have got so much use out of it… I have lost count of the number of times I have cut out the butterfly.

I had a couple of cards and little gifts to make so I thought I would put it through its paces once again.

This first card I sent to my cousin who lives in Cairns… such a beautiful place to visit.

I have used one of my favourite colour combination of Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Kraft and I cut of the butterfly yet again!. This time I cut out two and popped them on top of each other and held them together with two brads. I wanted to give the butterfly a 3D effect… See?

I stamped the sentiment from Trendy Trees and punched it out using the large oval punch. I stamped the branch using the second generation technique and then sponged the edges.

I also made this little bag with Lindt chocolates to go along with the card.

I used this same colour combination to make a little card holder and some cards for a very good friend of mine (waving Jacinta) who held her first workshop with me last week. Although Jiz has not yet come down with the stamping bug she still very kindly offered to host a workshop with me and even more kindly offered to give away her hostess gifts!! So I made a few gifts for her to say thanks and also to make sure she got some goodies from hosting a workshop.

This below is one of the gifts I made… some little gift cards

and a little gift card bag/box to keep them in.

I was so proud of this little bag/box – simple as it is, the girls in our team can vouch for the fact that me and boxes/bags just don’t seem to click  – but I refuse to be beat!

Enjoy your last day of spring mini and get ready for some summer mini lovin’.
